The annual Cape Town Tens were held this past weekend to great fanfare.

One of the stories of the weekend was the performance – on and off the field, of Abantwana Bomqguba.

The team from the Eastern Cape won their social league and were the chief vibe masters on the day, initiating the party on and off the field and leaving an enduring memory of a wonderful weekend.

The team, whose name translates to Children of the Wild, was spearheaded by Sprinbok captain and Buyfresh ambassador Siya Kolisi.

The team was made up of Kolisi’s team mates and opponents from his grass roots days with the Springbok captain taking the role of Head Coach. Kolisi had organized for the team to travel down from the Eastern Cape to participate in what has now become one of Cape Town’s flagship social events.

After the final, the victorious team celebrated with a braai at Kolisi’s home. On the menu was Buyfresh Free Range Lamb Loin Chops, Free Range Chicken Pieces, and Beef Boerewors, complimented by a selection of Buyfresh pantry items.

Kolisi, who partnered with Buyfresh as a brand ambassador in September last year, knows that there was only one way to to celebrate such an epic victory.

“It was great to win Tens with the guys I played Rugby with at grassroots in Port Elizabeth. To celebrate the victory afterwards with a Buyfresh Braai and eat good food together, made it even more special.” Springbok Rugby Captain Siya Kolisi said.

Buyfresh are incredibly honoured to have been a part of the celebrations and to continue their partnership with Siya.

“We are so proud to have been able to support Siya in making the Tens a memorable weekend for his team,” Buyfresh Co-founder Asher Stern said. “We will continue to provide healthy and free range meat that fuels Siya in this important World Cup year for the Boks!”
